World-Renowned Artist Vladimir Kush Unveils ‘Urban Geometry’

 During the month of May (2023), the founder and creator of Metaphorical Realism, Vladimir Kush, presented his New Masterpiece Compilation “Urban Geometry” Oil on Canvas (62.5″x83″). Exhibiting a unique art show in his own chain of galleries, Kush Fine Art in Laguna Beach and Las Vegas, the artist took the stage and welcomed his collectors and fans to showcase his latest creations and wearable art collection. 

This one-of-a-kind compilation painting immerses you into a stream of conscious and subconsciousness, night and day, and exterior and interior visual metaphors. The Limited-Edition Prints on Canvas are available in two Incredible sizes: 58″ x 78″ and 42″ x 56″. 

This painting is a representation of the model of the imaginary city of Cosmopolis, where the front plane is the Day (the conscious and collective actions) and the backside with its two planes represents the Night (the individual and subconsciousness). The ray coming from “All-Seeing Eye of God” creates an illusion of the outside observation of the city, and it sets the gears of the World Clock in motion.

The new compilation Masterpiece “Urban Geometry” features a collection of artworks by the artist including sold-out and never-before-seen masterpieces, featuring “Eclipse,” “History of the House,” “Shine Always,” “Ascent of the Spirit,” “Voyager,” “Small Town Comfort,” “Voyeur,” “Sword of Hamlet,” and many more

Alt-folk-pop singer-songwriter Rachael Sage has released the title track video “The Other Side” from her forthcoming album (out July 21, 2023, on MPress Records). Rachael, an award-winning singer-songwriter and self-described “cancer thriver”, is the human embodiment of an exclamation mark, and “The Other Side” video exemplifies her vibrancy in color and song. Shot at Gymnopedie in Brooklyn, the video’s rich hues jump off the screen as the irrepressible Sage moves between industrial urban spaces and Patricia Field-esque, fantastical gardens. The video (featuring Kevin J.Killen on drums and electric guitar and directed by Mike Flanagan) premiered in Vents and Wonderland.

June is both Pride and Uterine Cancer Awareness Month, and Sage is both mindful and celebratory when she discusses the video, saying, “When I sat down to brainstorm this video, I had three main goals: to create something so uplifting the viewer couldn’t help but feel encouraged – along with wanting to convey how remaining hopeful even under the most challenging circumstances can effectively bend time. Any excuse to light up a raw space in Brooklyn with neon, wear sequins and jam with a good friend is a great day, and I hope it makes people smile and feel inspired to embrace this precious, colorful life!”

The track, which features Jack Petruzzelli (Patti Smith) on guitar and Russ Johnson (Elvis Costello) on trumpet, demonstrates Sage’s timeless songwriting and reminds us that what’s most important – in relationships, dreams or our quest for freedom in whatever form – is always worth waiting for. Co-produced by Rachael with Grammy® winner Andy Zulla and longtime engineer Mikhail Pivovarov, “The Other Side” is resplendent with an uplifting horn section, soulful organ, spirited Elton-esque piano, and rapid-fire poeticism. Steeped in hope with just the right amount of best-is-yet-to-come optimism, the song is as instantly hummable as it is lyrically poignant.

Called to preach after a career in sales, Schreve graduated with a Doctor of Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2014. He is a passionate speaker with great humor, personality and strong enthusiasm about spreading the Gospel.

WAMC/Northeast Public Radio has received three honors in the New York State Broadcasters Association’s 57th Annual Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting competition.

WAMC was honored for Spot News, for “Shootout Rattles Saratoga Springs,” Sports Coverage, for “2022 Meet Kicks off at Saratoga Race Course,” and Election Coverage, “For NY-19 Special Election Features Two County Executives.” 

WAMC will officially receive the honors during a regional luncheon in September.

The Dan (formerly known as the Sapphire Lounge) opened its doors in Downtown Tampa, inside the historic Floridan Palace Hotel, this spring. The Dan is a modern fusion of Gulf Coast cuisine and old-school speakeasies. The menu can be described as “Gulf coastal with soul” and highlights both local ingredients and classic dishes, balancing current with the familiar. A variety of raw oysters, steaks, and local seafood is also featured alongside a historically-inspired cocktail program. 

“We’re thrilled to bring a unique dining experience to NoDo, an epicenter of culture and nightlife in downtown Tampa. Our team has worked hard to create an environment unlike any other, and we’re excited to share it with Tampa Bay locals and hotel guests alike,” says Crystal Rivera, General Manager of Floridan Palace Hotel. 

At the bar, guests can find specialty libations such as the Green Door, So We Beat On, and Bourbon Street Blues. The cocktail menu also features timeless cocktails like the Old Fashioned, Negroni, Espresso Martini, and Sazerac. The Dan provides guests with a cotton candy treat when the check is dropped as a sweet send off. It also serves as garnish for The Dan’s signature Champagne Cocktail

foBT Hospitality, a restaurant consulting firm based in New York City, is responsible for the reimagined concept at the historic hotel. The Dan serves dinner seven days a week, weekday lunch, and will soon offer weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Interior lighting is soft and the music played is a lively 1920s jazz tune with a familiar beat.

“The renovation set out to create a captivating experience that celebrates the 1920s’ era and the spirit of the building’s origination,” says Christina Kirkpatrick, Senior Designer at Jacki Arena Interiors. “It features a fully refurbished historic bar, new floor, wall, and ceiling finishes. All new furniture including custom lounge-style banquettes with beautiful tufting and integrated lights that will span the entire distance of both window walls. A special ceiling feature along the center of the space highlights new seating zones in the restaurant’s new layout. Along the perimeter, there are new glamorous light fixtures to add liveliness and luster to the space.”
