KENT, Ohio – October 7, 2022 – (Newswire.com)

With the music scene continuing to grow, this popular northeast Ohio DJ is leaving his mark by becoming one of the state’s most in-demand talents. Kyle Macon, also known as DJ Smillz, is an Ohio-based DJ who currently is the In-House DJ for Kent State’s Men’s Basketball team. His first introduction to the team was in 2021 when the Golden Flashes took on Oberlin College in an 84-38 victory. His resume does not stop there. Not only is he one of the representatives for Premier Media and Entertainment, but he has also found success opening up for multiple world-class talents. These talents include the current frontman of the hip-hop trio Migos, Quavo, the alternative pop band The Aces, and the American rapper Yung Gravy.

Smillz was also set to open for rapper Gunna at Kent State’s Homecoming, but the show was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

After following the success of opening up for Yung Gravy on Sept. 29, Smillz says he has “done a lot of reflecting” and is “… extremely thankful for the support that Kent State has shown me.” On Nov. 10, DJ Smillz will return for his second season with the men’s and women’s KSU Basketball teams as the Golden Flashes take on Baldwin Wallace. Smillz says he is “more ready than ever” for the season to kick off.

DSLR vs mirrorless cameras in images shortlisted for Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2018-2022

LONDON – October 7, 2022 – (Newswire.com)

Mirrorless cameras have overtaken DSLRs in popularity for the best astrophotographers in the world, according to a new study from Skies & Scopes.

685 images shortlisted for the Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition in the last five years (2018-2022) were analyzed for information on what cameras, telescopes, and mounts were used.

Key findings include:

Mirrorless Overtake DSLR Cameras: In 2022, for the first time, mirrorless cameras became more commonly used than DSLRs in the competition. Mirrorless cameras were used in 52% of DSLR/mirrorless images, versus 48% for DSLRs. In 2018, this was 83% DSLRs versus 17% mirrorless.

Growing Success of Sony Cameras: Sony cameras are increasingly used every year and the Sony A7 III is the most successfully used DSLR or mirrorless camera in the competition in 2022.

Decline in Use of Canon Cameras: Canon cameras were previously dominant in the competition but have decreased year-on-year since 2018. Just 17% of DSLR or mirrorless camera images were taken with Canon models in 2022, down from 53% in 2018.

ZWO Cameras Out Front for Deep Sky and Planetary Astrophotography: ZWO dedicated astronomy cameras dominate for planetary and deep sky imaging. 47% of all shortlisted planetary images were taken with a ZWO camera and the ZWO ASI174MM is the top model.

Celestron Telescopes Dominate: Celestron is the most successful telescope brand for astrophotography, ahead of Takahashi, Sky-Watcher, and Planewave. 40% of all shortlisted planetary images use Celestron telescopes, mostly their Schmidt-Cassegrains.

Sky-Watcher Mounts Lead: Sky-Watcher telescope mounts are consistently the top choice. 32% of images used a Sky-Watcher telescope mount and the Sky-Watcher EQ8 Pro is the most popular individual model in the last two years.

Author Lynn Thompson’s New Book ’12 Months’ Details the Author’s Struggle With Addiction to Adult Films, and How He Turned Towards Christ to Break His Dependence

Author Lynn Thompson’s New Book ’12 Months’ Details the Author’s Struggle With Addiction to Adult Films, and How He Turned Towards Christ to Break His DependenceRecent release “12 Months” from Covenant Books author Lynn Thompson is a powerful year-long journey through the author’s attempt at turning away from his adult film addiction and growing closer to God and his family. Documenting his thoughts and feelings during the process, Thompson reflects on his past and why he has become resolute in breaking free from the hold adult films had over him.

Blackjack, MO – October 7, 2022 – (Newswire.com)

Lynn Thompson, who found salvation and healing in God, has completed his new book, “12 Months”: a true and personal account of the author’s attempts at living a more honest and faith-based life while battling against an addiction many in society are unwilling to discuss or even acknowledge.

“’12 Months’ is a book I decided to write based on my convictions about getting close to God,” writes Thompson. “I felt like pornographic movies was not an addiction until I realized it was keeping me from growing in God. I made porn my god, so what I did was I decided to stop watching. And for the first twelve months, I wrote about how I felt every twentieth of the month, and it turned into me reflecting back on all the events in my life since I could remember as a child that led to me watching porn. It became a healing process, and I learned that God could deliver you from anything that you need to be delivered from so you can discover his plan and purpose for your life and use those things that bound you as your testimony and a guide to Christ and deliverance.

“So many men struggle with this. And those that want to come to Christ leave Christ because they feel that they can’t get away from it and that no one can give them the answer. But actually, to become a disciple, some things go away, and some things need to be delivered from. Moreover, I believe that ’12 Months’ will help so many men stay with Christ, continue to seek Christ, be delivered of those things that convict them, use it as a disciple, and be a great testimony for others.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Lynn Thompson’s new book is a powerful journey that brings to light a dangerous problem plaguing society, and one that must be addressed. Through Thompson’s own examples, readers will be aided in seeking out Christ despite personal struggles one may be facing and looking towards Him for salvation in overcoming any obstacle.

Readers can purchase “12 Months” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
