People are burnt out from dating apps and want to just meet someone in a bar. Meet people in real life at OFFLINE on Sunday, Nov. 13 at High Tide in DTLA.
LOS ANGELES – November 10, 2022 – (Newswire.com)
Beatmatch, a Los Angeles-based startup company launches OFFLINE, a new multi-city party experience connecting like-minded music lovers in real life (IRL). Previously, online daters had to endlessly swipe for hours just to receive minimal results while ultimately suffering from dating app fatigue. According to recent studies, 50% of dating app users have never actually met a match in person. However, Beatmatch believes that meeting in person is the best way to truly understand the vibe of someone new. OFFLINE is a no-pressure way to go out with friends, enjoy great music, and meet someone IRL.
Beatmatch is a dating and social app that helps music lovers find relationships and friendships by matching people with similar music tastes. Users are paired with compatible music lovers in their area based on their listening from Spotify and Apple Music. Users can even browse upcoming concerts, parties, and music festivals, discover who else wants to go, and buy tickets together. With Beatmatch, users receive a fresh feed of the best music events in their city so that they always know where the party is. This hybrid online and offline approach to social life gives music lovers the best of both worlds and makes it easier than ever to date and find friends in a safe environment with no strings attached. Beatmatch is backed by some of the most influential investors in the music and tech industries, including Warner Music Group, Rhymesayers Entertainment, Techstars, Concord Music, and Google for Startups.
“Nothing replaces meeting people in real life,” said Chudi Iregbulem, Founder and CEO of Beatmatch. “Artists and DJs are the original matchmakers. With the right song at the right moment, people can’t help but connect on the dance floor or by the bar, and meet someone special.”
OFFLINE hosts its first event this Sunday, Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. at the beautiful High Tide DTLA bar. For a few hours a month, Beatmatch asks people to turn off their phones, unplug, and disconnect from the ever-draining digital world. Sounds will be curated by MORESOUPPLEASE, who recently performed at both Rolling Loud and AFROPUNK music festivals, with help from Suga Shay, and Tiger.

Cameroonian artist calls for rights for women.
DELAWARE CITY, Del. – November 10, 2022 – (Newswire.com)
VerseOne Distribution, a global music distribution service, supports local independent artists around the world. Nda Chi, a griot from Cameroon will officially release his album, “Mengwi” on Nov. 18, 2022, exclusively distributed by VerseOne Distribution.
Mengwi means ‘Woman’ in Neghapelong, and is Nda Chi’s mother language. His upcoming 8-track album celebrates the women in his society, while also bringing light to the oppression, inequality, and violence they must face in their lives. Through this project, he aims to sensitize the world to the harsh realities of the misogynous, patriarchal society in which women live, and also calls women to unite in solidarity. Nda Chi wanted to highlight these women – his mother, family, friends- who desperately seek the freedom needed to survive as women. “Mengwi” is an external look at the woman and a call to her introspection.
“Melagouok”, a track from the album is his mother’s name and celebrates the women who dare to dream and pursue their own future. Using his mother as his muse, the track is his favorite “because it celebrates determination and ambition, despite the world saying no to her.”
Melagouok is my mother’s name and this title celebrates women like [her] who are leaders and dare to dream of their future and do everything to achieve their dream.
Nda Chi, born Armand Noel Ntoungchi Kamtchoua, is an artist from Baleng, West Cameroon. With a love for music since a young age, he was inspired by artists such as Nina Simone, James Brown, and Anne Marie Nzie. He developed his own style, combining African rhythms and folk with blues, rock, funk, and gospel. By combining traditional rhythms belonging to ethnic groups that make up Cameroon, Nda Chi strives to keep heritage alive and calls his style Ethnic Black Spiritual Groove. In 2018, he won the national song contest, “MutzigStar” and released his album “Ngi Ngun”, which won the best album award at the Visartculture Ouest Awards. Nda Chi is committed to shedding light on women’s rights.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – November 10, 2022 – (Newswire.com)
Disctopia, one of the fastest-growing indie music streaming platforms, today announces a collaboration with Southeastern Kentucky’s singer and songwriter, Tim Goodin. As a star on the rise with a growing social media presence, Disctopia seeks to expand the singer’s musical reach.
After establishing his musical prowess through social media, Disctopia aims to get Goodin closer and faster to his musical career goals by collaborating with the music streaming platform. The North Carolina-based service offers the country singer a dedicated outlet where his music can gain a wider audience with room for exponential growth.
Goodin, called a “crooner” given his soft singing voice, multiplied his following from a newcomer in December 2021 to more than 100,000 followers on TikTok. He’s also cultivating a listenership after releasing his debut EP, “Son of Appalachia,” which went up to #11 on the Top 100 iTunes charts earlier this year. The singer is currently gearing up to embark on an eight-show tour with The Steel Woods, a major national country act—adding to the perfect timing of this collaboration.
“Our partnership with Tim Goodin sprung out of what we’ve seen him achieve in little time. We believe a platform like ours is what he needs to grow further. At Disctopia, we aim to meet the needs of new and emerging sounds,” said Patrick Hill, founder and CEO of Disctopia. “We are optimistic that we’ll be able to contribute positively to the career of both Tim and all other artists on the platform.”
“I am honored to be partnering with Disctopia as the face of the music platform. It’s the right platform I need at this stage of my music career; I am hopeful that they will help in pursuing my dreams and aspirations as an artist,” said Tim Goodin, corroborating Hill’s statements.
About Disctopia
Disctopia is as a streaming platform dedicated to delivering indie content from creatives to fans globally through the Disctopia App. The platform is on a mission to revolutionize the independent creators’ industry by allowing fans to fuel the culture. The company is reimagining content streaming by providing access to indie creatives’ content. Ultimately, Disctopia aims to build a future where every creator is given a fair chance to succeed.

UpMarket’s proprietary full-lifecycle investment management technology makes private-market investing easier, enabling over $125 million in transaction volume to date
MANHATTAN, N.Y. – November 10, 2022 – (Newswire.com)
UpMarket, an alternative asset investment platform that helps individual investors build more diversified portfolios by tapping into private markets, announced a significant transaction milestone along with an update to its investment management technology that enables private-market investments to be managed digitally across their entire lifecycle, from investment through reporting and exit.
Classic Models of Diversification Are Not Delivering Expected Results
Recent market stress has challenged traditional concepts of diversification, especially the 60/40 portfolio which, according to Bloomberg, “is down 20% this year [and], a hair away from topping 2008 as the worst year ever.” With the classic bond/equity portfolio underperforming, institutional investment in “private markets is cushioning many of the world’s largest investors from the wreckage wrought by runaway inflation and spiraling interest rates.” While professional and institutional investors can easily tap into private markets to find diversification and uncorrelated asset classes, individual investors have had limited access.
Private Markets Remain Largely Untapped by Individual Investors
With significant minimum investment amounts, complicated legal structures, difficulty around reporting and administration, and a general lack of access, retail investors have been largely excluded from participating in the private-market boom.
UpMarket founder Grace Chen shared, “Institutional investors have the access and ability to deploy billions into alternative investment strategies. I started UpMarket to provide similar access for accredited individual investors, empowering them to allocate capital to a curated selection of hedge funds, private equity, pre-IPO companies, and other alternative investments.” Chen added, “Along with providing diversified investment opportunities, our goal is to help investors learn more about alternatives through regular educational content, including webinars where they can hear directly from professional managers about the markets they operate in and the trends they are seeing.”
Viewing diversification as the bedrock principle of any long-term investment strategy, Chen explained, “Private markets are flush with opportunities — the opportunity to invest in uncorrelated asset classes, to partner with professional money managers who have unique expertise and compelling track records, to acquire companies long before IPO, and to purchase assets at a significant discount in times of stress. Now with UpMarket, those opportunities are much more accessible.”
That increased accessibility and the attractiveness of private-market opportunities are key reasons why investors have deployed over $125 million through the UpMarket platform.
Empowering Individual Investors With Technology
Along with providing compelling investment opportunities, UpMarket has invested heavily in its platform to make managing a private investment seamless across an investment’s entire lifecycle. With UpMarket’s technology, the subscription, reporting, administration, and distribution of assets related to a private investment can now be handled entirely through the UpMarket website.
Peter Wang, UpMarket’s Chief Technology Officer, explained, “We looked at the private investment process and built from first principles a solution to make private investing as easy as possible. We removed the pen-and-paper signature process. Now everything related to a private-market investment has a single source of truth — it means no more searching for expired DocuSign emails, investment documents or needing to call someone to know the status of an investment. There are many great user experiences for public-market investing. We are bringing that same level of innovation to the private markets.”
Investors looking to access alternative asset classes and private-market opportunities can learn more at www.upmarket.co/.

UpMarket’s mission is to unlock the private markets for individual investors. Our proprietary technology enables seamless investment-to-exit management for a myriad of alternative investments including pre-IPOs, hedge funds, real estate, private equity, venture funds, and other asset classes.
